My Background and Experience

I have always specialized in working with children, teens, and their parents. However, I have continued to see adults as well.

I received my bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology from Loyola University Chicago in 1992. In 1994,  I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago.

Starting in 1994, I was a staff therapist for the Jewish Family and Community Service (now called the Jewish Child and Family Service) for five years.  There, I received extensive training in family therapy. From 2000-2002, I was a supervisor of social work for the Jewish Children’s Bureau (this agency too is now called the Jewish Child and Family Service) ; I supervised other therapists and provided counseling to children and their families.

Starting in 2002, I worked part-time while building my private practice. For two years I was a social worker at the Virginia Frank Child Development Center. I conducted therapy with children and their families, provided consultation to elementary schools, and worked in the Center’s therapeutic preschool. I then worked for another two years at Northshore University Healthcare’s Pediatric Rehabilitation Clinic, providing therapy and social skills interventions.

By 2006, I established a full-time private practice, specializing in working with children, adolescents, parents and adults.
